"A hundred years from now... it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove... but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child." ~ Anonymous
Youth Education's March Focus
Youth Education Preschool through Uniteens lessons for January will be centered around "Body Temple"
* Focus on acknowledging, accepting, and expressing feelings and the opportunity to practice transforming feelings. * Recognize the difference between your thoughts and feelings. * Help children see the power of choice in thoughts and words. * Help children understnad how they are a spiritual expression of God. * How do I honor my physical body? * Affirmation: I see God in me as me.
The children are encouraged to honor the spiritual nature of all parts of their being and each week a different aspect is explored: The physical, the feeling nature, the mental, and the spiritual.
Youth and Family Ministry
Children of all ages are welcome to Christ Unity Church. Our Youth Ministry programs are designed to enhance each child's knowledge of the Christ within them. We have a well-rounded, spiritual curriculum based on each child's age and level of understanding. For this reason, we proudly recommend that our children and teenagers attend the classes that are structured for them.
We offer our Youth Education Program during the 11am Sunday Service. As our Volunteer Teaching Team prepares an hour-long lesson, we ask that children ages 2 through 5th grade arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before each service (10:45am). Parents are asked to accompany their children to the classrooms. Immediately following the Sunday Service, children are to be picked up from their classrooms. No children are to be left in the rooms. Volunteer teachers will need to leave, so it is imperative that parents pick up their children in a timely manner.
On your first visit to Christ Unity Church, our ushers or Youth Ministry greeter will assist you in finding the right classroom(s) for your child. It is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes early for service, as we have a classroom sign-in policy for Nursery through 12th grade.
Guidelines for Parents and Children
Classes for all children (birth to 18) are available at our 11am service. At the 9am service, childcare is provided. Children under the age of 18 are expected to either attend class (if available) or be accompanied by their parents in the sanctuary during services.
DUE TO INSURANCE REGULATIONS, NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 16 MAY BE LEFT WITHOUT DIRECT SUPERVISION BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN, IN THE CHURCH OR ON THE CHURCH GROUNDS, AT ANY TIME. THIS INCLUDES BEFORE AND AFTER SUNDAY SERVICES, MEETINGS, APPOINTMENTS, WEDDINGS, AND SOCIAL EVENTS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP IN ENSURING THAT OUR CHILDREN REMAIN SAFE AT ALL TIMES.
Hours of Operation
The doors to the Youth Ministry Area open at 8:45am (childcare at 9am) and again at 10:45am (classes and nursery provided at 11am) on Sunday morning. We ask that parents not enter these areas until the doors open, as teachers are busy preparing their rooms for the children and will not be able to give your children their full attention if they arrive early.
The Youth Ministry Area closes at 12:30pm on Sunday morning. We ask that parents promptly retrieve children as soon as service concludes. This allows our volunteers time to clean up their class space, to pick up their own children and to spend time with their own families on Sunday after service.
