Senior Minister
Rev. Jim Lee was born in St. Louis, Missouri; however, he has spent most of his life in Washington, DC (25 years). After completing 4 years in the US Air Force, he attended college at the University of Maryland and received a degree in Business Management.
Prior to entering the ministry, Jim Lee was a successful Corporate Marketing Instructor and National Marketing Representative with IBM Corporation. During this time, he was very involved in community programs; particularly, those relating to youth empowerment. He was the Executive Director of Youth At Risk, a community-based program, which focused on transforming the lives of inner city youth.
He attended Unity School for Religious Studies, where he completed the Ministerial Education Program in 1994, and became the Senior Minister of Unity East Church Center in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, NY. There he led a 400+ church membership that served a multi-ethnic community.
Currently, Rev. Lee is Senior Minister and Pastor at Christ Unity Church in Sacramento, Ca. Previously, he was a Minister, with Spiritual Leader Marianne Williamson, at Church of Today in Warren, MI. He was formerly the Chaplain of Unity School for Religious Studies in Lee's Summit, MO, where he provided spiritual guidance and support for the staff, faculty and candidates of the Ministerial Education Program, the USRS Library, Bookstore, Retreat Department and Unity Inn. He was actively involved in the Diversity Council and Chairperson of the Millennium Committee at Unity Village.
Rev. Lee was also a member of the Board of Directors of Renaissance West, a substance abuse rehabilitation facility in Kansas City, MO.
He is married to Sheila Gautreaux, professional opera singer, ordained New Thought Minister and Licensed Unity Teacher. Together they present motivational and transformational workshops and retreats on relationships, healing, prayer and meditation. They are co-authoring a book on Sacred Partnerships.
