All that I give, all that I receive, and all that I Am Greetings Dear Friend, There are many ways to support our ministry at Christ Unity Church. According to Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, “A gift of reservations is not a gift; it is a bribe. There is no promise of increase unless we give freely, let go of the gift entirely, and recognize the universal scope of the law. Then the gift has a chance to go out and to come back multiplied. There is no telling how far the blessing may travel before it comes back, but it is a beautiful and encouraging fact that the longer it is in returning, the more hands it is passing through and the more hearts it is blessing. All these hands and hearts add something to it in substance, and it is increased all the more when it does return." Unity’s Prosperity Principles “God is my instant, constant, and abundant source of supply.” We live in a universe of spiritual substance, infinite supply, and endless good. God is our source and our supply. Other people, our jobs, etc. are channels through which we receive. We are all worthy to partake of the infinite good that Spirit would give us. Prosperity comes to us not in the form of material things but in the form of divine ideas. Abundance is found in a consciousness of God, not a preoccupation with material things. To live the abundant life we must practice the laws of giving and receiving. Tithing is a spiritual discipline that helps us remember to put God first. To clear the blocks to the flow of our good, we must forgive and let go of our resentments. We must be open and receptive to receive this good Volunteering Volunteering is one way which supports our ministry and is a nice way to get involved with our church community. Tithing Tithing is based on the belief that all our good comes from God, that God is the source of all that we have, and that through giving back to God the first fruits of our labors, we are planting seeds for future harvest of our bounty. In the Old Testament we read about how the first ten percent of the harvest was replanted to nourish the soil and provide a fertile land from which to grow. “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing. I will rebuke the locust for you, so that it will not destroy the produce of your soil; and your vine in the field shall not be barren, says the Lord of hosts. Then all the nations will count you happy, for you will be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts.”
(Malachi 3:9-12).
Tithing is recognition of the presence of God within as the source of all our good. If one tithes through any feeling of coercion or fear, or even habit we miss the point. Assess where you receive your spiritual nourishment and tithe to it. Nothing builds consciousness as much as the process of giving our tenth willingly, cheerfully, lovingly, joyfully. Tithe
